EAPSTRA - EurAsian Network for Product Lifecycle Support and Training - is an Asia IT&C project comprising five partners, three from Europe (Clausthal University of Technology, Cardiff University and University of Patras) and two from Asia (King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and Universiti Technologi Malaysia).
EAPSTRA aims to demonstrate the benefits associated with advanced technologies and intelligent manufacturing for Product Lifecycle Support (PLCS) such as Artificial Intelligence Tools (AIT), Multimedia (MM), Computer Based Training (CBT) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and related progressive design methodologies. Thereby increasing the awareness amongst Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and research institutions in Asia (Thailand, Malaysia in particular) of advanced methods for the support and maintenance of a product throughout its life. Activities during the project will be carried out in Technology Demonstration Centres based in Malaysia, and Thailand. Pilot projects will be conducted, a liaison network of interested parties and experts established, workshops will be given and a web-based information portal and discussion forum initiated. These will be realised within a project duration of 24 months.
